Kalu Interiors Warranty

As a customer of Kalu Interiors, we are dedicated to ensuring that you receive furniture that exceeds your expectations. We are equally committed to providing you with the best service possible to match.

When you purchase any product from our online store or our warehouse shopfront, you are entitled to receive goods that meet the requirements of Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a refund, store credit or replacement of goods in the case that a product is:

  • Unsafe or unfit for its described purpose
  • Considerably different to the sample provided or item described
  • Is not in line with the quality shown in samples or described

In addition to any consumer laws which may be applicable, Kalu Interiors provides the following warranty for its customers. The warranty period commences from the date when the product is delivered to the customer, or the date in which the product is picked up from our warehousing facility.

  • 5 Year warranty on the internal structures of any sofas
  • 2 Year Limited warranty on any soft furnishings such as fabrics, upholstery, foam fillings for sofas
  • 2 year structural warranty on any dining chairs or arm chairs
  • 1 year warranty on any soft furnishings for dining chairs and arm chairs such as fabrics, upholstery, foam fillings etc
  • 2 year structural warranty on any wooden finished items such as coffee tables and TV units

Any warranty claims must be submitted by the original purchaser of the item and the original invoice must be provided with the order number. Kalu Interiors reserves the right to physically inspect the goods before resolving any warranty claims.

Kalu Interiors warranty policy will be voided as the result of any of the following scenarios or occurrences:

  • The goods are sold by the purchaser named on the invoice to another party. The warranty is not transferable and is only applicable to the original customer.
  • The product/s purchased are used for commercial purposes The goods are damaged during transportation by any carrier other than one pre-approved or recommended by Kalu Interiors.
  • The goods are damaged whilst being relocated from the original delivery address.
  • The goods have been damaged or modified by any contractor conducting work on the furniture unless pre-approved or recommended by Kalu Interiors.
  • The furniture is incorrectly or improperly assembled causing damage to the item. This includes any damages caused to the item by any effort to alter the item.
  • Power tools are used for the assembly of the item where the instructions have recommended that assembly should be conducted using the tools provided or hand assembly.
  • The goods have been used outdoors or exposed to direct sunlight (Excludes outdoor furniture). Exposing leather or upholstered furniture to direct sunlight can cause the fabric to fade over a period of time. The furniture has been excessively used or used in an abnormal manner which would not be considered reasonable.
  • The goods have been subject or exposed to pets leading to damages.
  • The goods have been subject to unreasonable or excessive force such as being dropped, crushed, or exposure to extreme heat or cold. The goods have not been maintained as per the manufacturer’s recommendations or in a reasonably expected manner. Any damage caused by irregular cleaning or lack of maintenance as per the manufacturers recommendation will void the warranty.

Please note that Kalu Interiors strives to provide the highest quality furniture possible. There are natural occurrences that happen when furniture is produced or used. The following occurrences are not covered in Kalu Interiors Warranty Policy:

  • The foam filling/ soft fillings of any upholstered goods has indentations caused by the natural use of the product. As products are used, the foam may mould according to the usage of the furniture, this is a normal and expected occurrence as the foam settles.
  • The fabric of any upholstered furniture item may experience a small degree of sagging or flexing. Please note that fabric will never sit 100% still and some level of sagging or flex is completely normal in order to stretch fabric over soft filling.
  • Any foam filled goods may endure some slight indentations during shipping. These marks will usually disappear within 48 hours of unwrapping the goods. If this is not the case, these marks are easily relieved with the application of some steam or heat from a hair dryer. Please call or email our team to consult us on any questions before trying to resolve any shipping indentations.
  • Some reasonable degree of variation from the furniture we advertise to the furniture you receive may occur. Examples of this include when furniture is made using natural wood, marble or processes which may facilitate varying finishes such as brushing stainless steel.

Please note this is only for furniture where we use raw materials or production processes which may cause natural variance.

  • We reserve the right to determine if a defect or wear and tear caused a product or component to fail. Replacement or repair is offered at our discretion and within your consumer rights and guarantees. If an exchange is not possible, we may offer a substitute or full refund, depending on inventory availability. All repair or replacement of item(s) will depend on inventory availability.
